Bio

Steffan Norberhuis is the founder of Rocketleap. Rocketleap provides a complete AWS platform in AWS CDK used by over 100 developers across a combined spend of $100K+ per month. He also does AWS consultancy and FinOps for large enterprises. With over 10 years of experience, he has worked with startups, SMEs, and enterprises like PostNL and ABN AMRO, empowering them to build better software faster.

In his free time, Steffan goes trail running, loves mountain biking, and in winter enjoys skiing.

We found $89K of savings. Instead of a win: a political fight about impact and ownership. Spending money is easy; getting cost optimizations approved is not. No clear decision maker, three meetings, double-digit precision. Past Savings Plans, cost optimization is a distributed systems problem. I’ll show how that applies, how to build cost-efficient infra, and how to bring the organization along so a proposal doesn’t get stranded.
