Bio

I’m an AWS Serverless Hero and Head of Development at ip.labs based in Bonn. I have been in the tech industry for over 25 years. My current focus and interests include the design of highly scalable and available applications in the AWS Cloud, with a special passion for Serverless, Generative, and Agentic AI, as well as the optimization of Java applications on AWS Lambda.

I’m also a frequent speaker at various events, and a regular author of articles in different magazines and on my online blog.

Deep dive into AWS Lambda Managed Instances

AWS Lambda Managed Instances enables us to run functions on a wide range of EC2 instances while maintaining Lambda’s operational simplicity. In this talk, I will explain what problems do AWS Lambda Managed Instances solve, what limitations do they currently have, and how to create them. I’ll also compare them with the Lambda default compute type and provide some recommendations on when to use each Lambda compute type.
