Public Transport
Go to Utrecht Central Station and exit “Jaarbeurs Boulevard” and follow the signs to Jaarbeurs/Kinepolis. You’ll find the event on your left.
Parking
We encourage everyone to use public transport or P+R Westraven, P+R Berlijnplein Leidsche Rijn, P+R Science Park Utrecht Uithof, P+R Papendorp, P+R Breukelen, P+R Galgenwaard. If you’re driving, we recommend parking in P4, P6, or P2 (in that order). Enter through ‘Entree West,’ walk through the hall, and continue to ‘Entree East,’ where you’ll find Kinepolis on your right. Discounted day parking tickets are available at the Kinepolis shop (bring & show your original ticket). (Parking at Croeselaan Parking has no discount, and is very expensive!)
Can I arrive earlier and have lunch onsite?
Regular attendees can arrive 12:30. Check-in starts 13:00 and there is no lunch available onsite - not complimantary and not at your own expense. Crew/Speakers/Sponsors with “Early Access” can enter 10:00, and for them there is complimentary coffee, tea and lunch provided.
Is Speys restaurant openend, for lunch or dinner?
We will update this page as soon as we know. They have no regular opening hours.
Is there dinner provided in the evening?
We have drinks and some small bites between 17:30 and 19:00. For attendees of the evening program, there will be complimentary fries / snack / soda provided near the cinema where the evening program runs. Pick it up, find a seat, and enjoy the evening program.
When do we know if there will be an evening program?
It will be announced on our website, social media, and everyone who signed up receives an e-mail to sign up for the evening program. Seats will be limited.
When is the EXPO open?
From the moment we let people in (around 13:00) until we have to close and break down (around 19:00). Between 13:00-14:00, 15:00-16:00 and 17:30-19:00 it will be busy.
Can I reserve a seat in a session?
You cannot reserve a seat. All sessions are walk-up, so popular sessions could run out of seats quickly. Be on time.
Will sessions be recorded and are the slides shared?
No, sessions will not be recorded. If you’re interested in slides from a speaker and they didn’t tell where to find them, ask at the event or ask them on our Slack workspace (all speakers are there).
Dutch or English?
English. We encourge everyone at the event to speak English because not everyone speaks Dutch and English is therefore more inclusive.
Is equipment, like workstations, provided during workshops?
Most workshops are bring your own device, unless otherwise stated in the session description.
Is there wifi available?
No, there is no wifi for attendees. The wifi is reserved for speakers, crew and sponsors. For emergencies, please reach out to the crew.
Are there conference rooms available for calls?
No, but Kinepolis is quite spacious, so maybe there’s a silent spot. Or you can go to a restaurant, bar, or hotel nearby.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. There’s an elevator and our crew is happy to help you. Please contact martijn@awscommunityday.nl upfront to make sure you feel welcome when you arrive.
Is there live captioning or sign language interpreter?
We can provide live captioning or a sign language interpreter if requested. Or bring your own and we can take care of reasonable costs. Please contact martijn@awscommunityday.nl upfront.
